The Faculty of Business Administration and Information Sciences at Merseburg University of Applied Sciences is seeking to fill, with effect from 1 April 2018, the following position:
Professor of General Business Studies, Accounting and Controlling (category W2)
The post-holder (m/f) will be required to teach “Fundamentals of Controlling” and other modules (such as management accounting) from the General Business Studies curriculum forming part of the core units on our business administration programmes and in the capacity as a subject representative for other departments of Merseburg University of Applied Sciences. In addition, the candidate will be expected to take responsibility for and to develop one of the modules from the “Corporate Accounting and Controlling” disciplines (both for face-to-face teaching and for on-the-job programmes) and to contribute to subject-related teaching for Master’s students. The person sought should, since completing his or her business administration studies, have gained extensive practical experience in operational controlling, preferably in a manufacturing company environment. The candidate will be expected to incorporate controlling-related SAP modules into teaching content.

The position is subject to the requirements and conditions of employment set out in Section 35 of the state of Saxony-Anhalt’s Higher Education Act (“HSG LSA”). The candidate must be prepared to contribute to research, to in-service programmes (several weekends per semester), to professional development courses and provide support in response to requirements from other departments. In view of the increasingly international nature of the programmes offered, teaching will also be provided through the medium of English.
The candidate is also expected to be actively involved in the work of university administration committees.
The level of remuneration is in line with the conditions applicable to employees of the State of Saxony-Anhalt. In addition to the basic salary, bonuses may be paid to reward above-average performance.
