„Artificial Intelligence in Communication Networks“ (m/f/d)

Are you passionate about artificial intelligence and how it can make our communication networks more powerful, efficient, and sustainable? At our university, you will have the opportunity not only to pass on your knowledge to the next generation of engineers but also to actively contribute to innovative research aiming to achieve a sustainable future. We are excited about the prospect of working with you to advance both teaching and research in these vital areas.

Your tasks:

  • You will contribute your theoretical and practical experience to the courses of our Bachelor's and Master's degree programs “Elektrotechnik”, “Informationstechnik” and “Information Technology” in German and English, among others.
  • In particular, you represent the subject areas of AI, fundamentals of software development and communication technology.
  • You supervise our students in their project, Bachelor's and Master's theses (preferably in cooperation with your practice partners).
  • You will be involved in applied and interdisciplinary research, particularly in the subject area, and initiate/maintain collaborations with practice partners in Germany and abroad.
  • You actively participate in the further development of our department and our university and contribute to its internationalization. 

Your profile:

  • You have a university degree in computer science, electrical engineering, information technology, mathematics, or a comparable subject area and can prove your scientific qualification through a doctorate.
  • You have at least 5 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years outside the university sector, or can provide evidence of additional academic achievements.
  • You can provide evidence of teaching experience, e.g. through teaching assignments, experience in education, or didactic training courses.
  • You have extensive and application-related experience and knowledge in the fields of AI methods, mobile, and software development.
  • You are committed, team-oriented and enjoy internationally networked thinking and acting as well as interdisciplinary, diversity-sensitive work in teaching and research.
  • Ideally, you can also demonstrate your scientific qualifications through publications at leading international conferences and/or in journals.
  • German language skills of at least level C1 are mandatory.

The position is open-ended. When first appointed to a professorship, employment is initially in a probationary civil servant relationship or in a permanent employment relationship with a three-year probationary period.
