DestinE is a flagship program of the European Union to build a highly accurate digital twin of the Earth.

The focus of the group will be on the use of output from next-generation km-scale Earth-system models to advance scientific understanding, and document this in scientific literature. Topics of investigation can reflect the applicant’s own interest and can cover any of the various spheres of the Earth-system simulated by the models, but we are particularly focused on understanding signals, including biases, that were unexpected. The applicant is expected to provide intellectual leadership and mentorship to PhD and Master’s students. Funding or support will be provided based on the identification of suitable topics and candidates.
