Who are we?

Télécom Paris, a school of the IMT (Institut Mines-Télécom) and a founding member of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, is one of the top 5 French general engineering schools.

The guiding mission of Télécom Paris is to train, imagine and undertake to design digital models, technologies and solutions for a society and economy that respect people and their environment.

SCIENTIFIC CONTEXT
The field of cellular mobile networks is at the dawn of major scientific challenges to make 6G a tangible reality. The definition of 6G is at the heart of many discussions worldwide, due to its strategic importance in terms of technological sovereignty. The objectives of this new generation are not yet clearly defined, oscillating between an improvement in existing performance (throughput, responsiveness, reliability) and a paradigm shift towards an "Internet of the senses". In any case, this future technology will represent a significant break with previous generations.
We are looking for a Research Lecturer specialized in mobile networks to join our dynamic team at Télécom Paris, in the Computer Science and Networks department. Main tasks include the development of 6G, contributing to the definition and implementation of a totally redesigned radio interface, including a new physical layer and new access techniques. The candidate will also explore very high frequency bands (subTHZ and THZ), characterized by high channel directivity and the absence of traditional cells. Radio resource management, mobility control and scheduling will have to be reinvented, with a strong AI component. In addition, the candidate will have to examine joint communication and detection techniques to improve performance in terms of throughput, latency, reliability and energy efficiency.

  • Applicants should participate in the design and implementation of courses in their scientific field.
  • They should conduct research.
  • They should participate in the development of partnerships, collaborations, and contractual agreements in their scientific field.

Job requirements

The profile we're looking for requires in-depth knowledge of mobile radio interfaces, particularly in terms of architecture and protocols, as well as experimentation and open source developments such as Open air interface, SRSRAN, Gnuradio and UHD. Practical experience with the software-defined radio and O-RAN paradigms is essential, as the studies carried out in this position have a strong experimental component on 5G/6G platforms. Active participation in research and innovation projects such as PEPR 5G, BPI projects, SLICES-FR and 6G SRIA is also expected. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work in a team, collaborate with the scientific community and innovate in applied research.
By joining our dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and benefit from state-of-the-art research infrastructures.
Come and join us if you're ready to take on the challenges of 6G and contribute to the academic and research excellence of Télécom Paris!

Why join us?
You'll be working in a fast-growing, pleasant, green and accessible environment (particularly for people with disabilities) just 20 km from Paris (RER B and C, close to major roads, shared shuttle service from Porte d'Orléans). You will benefit from :

  • Flexible working hours (depending on the department's activity)
  • Teleworking 1 to 3 days/week possible
