Your Role
The successful candidate will join the UBIX Research Group, led by Prof. Raphaël Frank, in collaboration with the Automation and Robotics Research Group, led by Prof. Holger Voos. Additionally, this industrial project will be conducted in partnership with the City of Luxembourg as part of the IPBG ATLAS programme.
This PhD project aims to develop a digital twin (DT) for a new bus depot in Luxembourg City, managing a fleet of electric buses. The DT will simulate operations like bus line planning, charging, maintenance, and parking to improve efficiency and performance. The project will create a detailed digital model, test management strategies, and integrate the DT with existing systems. Outcomes include optimized operational strategies, cost reduction, and enhanced sustainability for e-bus operations.
You will be required to perform the following tasks

Qualification: The candidate should possess an MSc degree or equivalent in Computer Science or any related engineering discipline
Experience: The ideal candidate should have some knowledge and/or experience in several of the following topics (ordered by importance)
Strong analytical and programming skills are required (Python and C/C++). Prior proven experience in data-driven innovation projects is an asset. Most importantly, you should be curiosity driven and willing to constantly learn new things!
