INSTITUTE OF EDUCATIONAL SCIENCES I AS OF WINTER TERM 2018/2019
The professorship will be established to strengthen the university research focus on “Intelligent Systems for a Sustainable Society”. Against this background, it is expected that the candidate will be able to show an interdisciplinary perspective and is experienced on this research focus. Furthermore the candidate should provide strong contribution to research on digital support systems for the teaching and learning process and should participate in a sustainable media educational and media didactics development of relevant concepts (Secondary Education II, University) and its scientific tests.
The tasks of teaching include participation in the teacher training program of Secondary Education II. The candidate is also expected to cooperate with colleagues of educational science and the teaching methodologies in teaching and research as well as appropriate with all other faculties of the University of Stuttgart in the context of higher education didactic problems.
A basic requirement for the appointment is a proven scientific excellence (i.e. via publications in scientific journals as well as outstanding achievements in teaching). An empirical orientation of the candidate and experiences in the field of acquiring of third-party funds are also necessary.
We expect an active participation in the current developing process of the Professional School of Education. In addition, it is required that the position holder will contribute actively to the academic self-administration of the Institute.
The professorship is funded in the context of the joint programme for the promotion of early career researchers by the German federal and stategovernments. The position is a tenure track position leading to an appointment as a W3 Professor in case of a positive evaluation.
In accordance with § 47 section 3 Baden-Württemberg University Law (LHG), proof of three years of practical experience in school teaching is – as a general rule – regarded a requirement for a professorship with responsibilities concerning educational or didactical tasks in teacher training. Furthermore the requirements for employment listed in § 51 Baden-Württemberg university law apply.
