Head of the Unit Applied Intervention Research
Salary scale: up to 14 on German Public Sector Salary System (TV-L)
Full-time job with 39,20 hours/week
Initial contract duration of 3 years, with option for a permanent position
The unit is currently involved in various intervention projects on prevention and health promotion, conducts evaluation of complex interventions using mixed methods, and focuses on reseach using e- and mHealth approaches. The unit´s research topics and expertise include the social norms approach and a strong focus on transfer concepts and activities, particularly in the field of nutrition and physical activity. The unit works theory- and modelguided, and strives to enhance the theoretical foundations of Public Health interventions and their evaluation, as well as the evidence base.
We are looking for a strongly motivated and creative scientist with an excellent track record in intervention research and a keen interest in complex interventions. The sucessful applicant is expected to independently develop grant proposals and collaborate in national and international research consortia. Experience in leading teams and the ability and willingness to work in flat hierarchies is required. The successful candidate will be a member of the department management team.
The post offers the opportunity to attain advanced qualifications (habilitation). Teaching at the University of Bremen is foreseen, as well as the supervision of theses at various levels.
The Leibniz Institute for Prevention Research and Epidemiology – BIPS GmbH is one of Germany´s leading epidemiology and prevention research institutes with about 180 scientific and research support staff in four scientific departments and the administration. Several research infrastructures, including the Bremen study center of the nationwide NAKO Health study, offer exciting research opportunities.
