Doctoral College GIScience

The establishment of an interdisciplinary Doctoral programme at the University of Salzburg is a legitimate and consequent step within the excellence strategy for Geoinformatics and GIScience research in Salzburg. Salzburg has gained international reputation as one of Europe's leading centres of excellence in this field over the last 15 to 20 years.

This Doctoral programme has a three-tiered system of

1. core faculty serving as principal investigators of the research projects, main supervisors and responsible members of this DK,
2. other members of the research groups and
3. very specific tier of postdoc/senior postdoc scientists who are actively involved in supervision and training.
