Medical University of Bialystok, Poland (MUB)

Medical University of Bialystok is a renowned, dynamically expanding institution of higher education, distinguished among Polish academic centers.

The University staff members offer high standard of teaching and are an opinion- forming milieu in the region. Among all 784 academic teachers, there are 119 professors and 147 habilitated doctors. This ratio is one of the highest among all Polish universities.

In July 2012, in the first edition of a contest announced by the Polish Ministry of Higher Education, the Centre for Innovative Research of the Medical University of Bialystok was awarded the status of the Leading National Research Centre 2012-2017 (Krajowy Naukowy Osrodek Wiodacy-KNOW) and in 2013, the Centre for Innovative Research won the title of Podlasie Brand of the Year.

In September 2013, in the ‘parametric evaluation’ conducted by the Polish Ministry of Higher Education, the Faculty of Pharmacy with the Division of Laboratory Medicine received a prestigious category “A+” as the best research institution in the field of life sciences. The Faculty of Medicine with the Division of Dentistry and Division of Medical Education in English received category “A” and reached the first place among all faculties. The Faculty of Health Sciences also received category “A” and reached one of the top places in the ranking.

Every year, the University places high in nationwide university rankings. In 2011, the Medical University of Bialystok received two prestigious awards from Perspektywy publishing house and Rzeczpospolita daily newspaper – University with the highest scientific effciency (rated as number one  in Poland) and Kuźnia Kadr 2011 (title awarded to the institution of higher education‘breeding’ the best young professionals).

For over 65 years now, the University has trained professional medical staff. There are nearly 5,000 students at 14 courses of study, and over 300 of them study in English. The learning opportunities are being constantly enhanced to suit the needs of the continuously developing job market. Our University has two unique courses to offer: Speech Therapy with Phonoaudiology, and Electroradiology (Master’s degree level).

The University publishes two academic journals: inscribed on the ISI Master Journal List – Advances in Medical Sciences and  rated by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Educationon Progress in Health Sciences.

We continually reinforce the advancement of our research and academic staff through numerous scholarships, training programs, internships and study visits to the best research and academic centers around the world, as well as through expert lectures given by visiting professors from f.e Mayo Clinic, National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Harvard Medical School, University of Pennsylvania.
