We are a university physically and educationally at the heart of our city and region, attracting remarkable students from the locality, the nation and globally.

We recruit 67% of our home students from within the wider city region, contribute an annual £424m to the local economy and engage with over 47,000 future learners a year through our outreach and community activity. Almost 20% of our students are from neighbourhoods with traditionally low numbers going to university.

• Almost 97% of our students are from state schools. In 2016, 41% of our new students were from lower social class backgrounds, and 28% of all our students are from families with a household income of less than £25,000.
• Our welcoming and modern City Campus is at the gateway to Sheffield - whilst our tranquil Collegiate Campus is just a 20 minute walk away in one of Sheffield’s leafiest suburbs.
