The 5,000 students and 500 employees of the University of Vaasa thrive on the most beautiful campus in Finland, located at the seaside. Our university community is international: we come from 80 countries. We focus on employee well-being at work by providing opportunities for competence development, flexible working time arrangements and extensive occupational health care. The University has been awarded the HR Excellence in Research recognition.

Research & Development

Our focus areas in research include management and change, energy and sustainable development, and finance and economic decision-making. Across these focus areas, we conduct impactful research of a high international standard. Our 4 academic units and 3 research platforms promote cross-disciplinary research. The close cooperation with the local businesses community has created a unique growing pond for groundbreaking research and development activities.

EnergyVaasa

The considerable amount of companies within the energy industry provides an opportunity to network and always find the best experts. EnergyVaasa is the leading energy hub in the Nordic countries with an annual turnover of some EUR 5 billion. Export rate is over 80 %, which covers 30 % of the total export of energy technology in Finland. It is the most productive area in Finland when it comes to creating money per capita.

High Quality Education

University of Vaasa provides education in the disciplines of business studies, technology, administrative sciences and communication studies. We have EPAS accredited Master’s degree programmes in international business, finance and strategical business development. All technology degree programmes are accredited by ASIIN.
