The thermal-hydraulic system code ATHLET and the containment code COCOSYS, both have been developed by the Society for Plant and Reactor Safety (GRS) GmbH, have been well qualified in safety analysis of nuclear power plants. They need to be extended for fusion specified requirements and applications, e. g., based on EU DEMO (DEMOnstration power plant).
